College sport

Great Lakes College has a proud and strong sporting tradition. Students from our local area bring many talents to our school.

Great Lakes College offers a range of representative sports. We are part of the Manning Zone and compete in Zone carnivals against other local schools in swimming, cross country and athletics.

Our College is dominant within this zone, with a high percentage of Zone teams, which participate at Regional and State levels, comprising of a high percentage of College students.

Throughout the year, students compete in NSW Combined High Schools (CHS) and All Schools in individual and team sports including tennis, squash, diving, surfing, canoeing, triathlon, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, horse sports and golf.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to participate in all carnivals and can be nominated for special category events at Regional and State levels. Swimming and athletics events have high participation rates from our support students.

Numerous teams are entered in cricket, netball, soccer (Bill Turner Shield and Trophy), volleyball, rugby league and touch football competitions, enabling a wide range of students, of all abilities, to participate.
